The Veterans In Politics International encourages all Nevadans to go to the polls and vote intelligently for the candidate(s) they feel would better support issues and concerns.

It is critical that we put people in office that will support our values and way of life.

A message from the Veterans In Politics International:

We are extremely upset that elected officials have geared away from being “Public Servants”, have geared away from their “Oath of Office”, they are not protecting the citizens and seen to be more worried about protecting their next election and their personal agenda.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department executed Eric Scott an Army Veteran a CCW carrier; his weapon still in its holster, Trevon Cole an unarmed man on his knees shot in the face in his home, and Stanley Gibson an Gulf War Army Veteran unarmed, pinned in his vehicle and shot in the back of the head.

Where is the outrage from our elected officials for these men that have lost their lives unnecessarily?

Some members of the Clark County Commission are more worried about Fire Fighters abusing their sick pay and the Las Vegas Constable making untactful videos.

Who is standing up for the death of our citizens and the one-sided Corners Inquest?

Both Clark County Commissioner’s Lawrence Weekly and Larry Brown stated in our interviews that the shooting death of Stanley Gibson by Metro is an “unlawful shooting;” then what have they done about it?

Is Clark County Commissioner Sisolak best representing the public?

We have not seen our County Commissioners standing up for a Veterans Court that was passed into law in 2009; when I visited with Clark County Commissioner Steve Sisolak he told me that we “do not have the money for a Veterans Court”, but Commissioner Sisolak did not have a problem filing a civil law suit against Clark County and the McCarran Airport and awarded $16,617,730.68 from the tax payers over height restrictions that decreased the value of his property.

Commissioner Sisolak sits on the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Committee on Fiscal Affairs and he has not stood up for the unnecessary death and mistreatment of our citizens by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department; instead all he has done is approved payouts for a federal wrongful death suit to the Cole family in the amount of $1.7 million, Mitchell Crooks who was beaten by a Metropolitan Police Officer received $100,000, Ira Carter a retired Metropolitan Police Officer received $40,000 in a federal racial discrimination law suit against Metro, Juan Barry and James Suggs two tourist received $900,000 against Metro for false arrest and false charges, Detective Steve Riback received $350,000 in a religious discrimination law suit against Metro, Metropolitan Police Department announced it will pay $125,000 to settle a federal lawsuit filed by a woman who suffered a torn rotator cuff and neck ligaments, and three injured ribs during a 2008 traffic stop, Charles Barnard awarded $1.6 million for excessive force, Calvin Darling was awarded $125,000 for being falsely accused of drunk driving and falsely accused of causing the death of Officer James Manor.

Millions of dollars are approved by Clark County Commissioner Steve Sisolak for law suits filed against the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

Commissioner Sisolak calls himself fiscally conservative; is this tax payer dollars well spent; what has Sisolak done to change the behaviour in Metro?

It is interesting how Commissioner Sisolak received more money from Clark County for losing the value of his property over a height restriction yet the importance of our citizens lives seem to be on the back burner.

In other events:

We have also learned that Commissioner Sisolak made back room deals to have his district lines redrawn to help him win a re-election campaign.

We are very concerned that the county has failed to follow federal laws to give veterans hiring preferences for county jobs.

Some of our elected leaders feel a sense of entitlement, they control people in the media, they control their colleagues; by using their influence and money to dictate what they want and who they want to see destroyed.

They pacify the public in thinking that they are ethical and honorable, but in reality behind closed doors they act like a dictator and a bully.

It’s time we have elected officials that will put the citizens before themselves…….
